Lost and Found Horse Rescue Foundation, Inc. was founded in 1999 by Mr. Robert Truland and his wife, Mrs. Mary Truland. We are a registered Maryland charitable organization dedicated to rescuing equines.
Currently the rescue is home to thirty three donkeys, twenty horses, one miniature horse, a mule, goats, sheep, and a bull.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Truland have generously donated part of their beautiful property for LFHR to operate on. Because this is a private property, visits are by appointment only.
Maria Anselmo is the manager of LFHR of Maryland. She has been around horses most of her life. She was involved with Pony Club and 4-H, and is still active with those groups. She is a certified instructor for Seneca Valley Pony Club, achieved her C3 rating in 2004, and has competed in eventing, dressage, show jumping, games, and the hunter ring.
Maria apprenticed under master horseman Tony Eyler in December of 2007 and began training horses using natural horsemanship methods.
She trains horses with behavioral problems as well as starting young horses.
Horses change lives.
They give our young people confidence and self-esteem.They provide peace and tranquility to troubled souls.
They give us hope!
